Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 31, 2026 Effective Date: October 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Savorpad handles information when you use the application. Savorpad is designed to store and manage your recipes, pantry inventory, and shopping lists locally on your device.

1 Overview

  • No Developer-Operated Servers: The developer does not operate servers or accounts through which Savorpad collects or receives your recipes, ingredients, pantry information, shopping lists, or recipe photos. The developer does not sell your app data.
  • Local Storage: The data you create within the application is stored directly on your device.
  • No In-App Analytics or Ads: Savorpad contains no third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking frameworks, or commercial analytics services.

2 Information Stored on Your Device

Local Database Storage

  • Content: Recipe titles and descriptions, ingredient definitions, structured ingredient usages (including quantities, measurement units, preparation methods, and custom notes), cooking instructions, preparation and cooking times, serving information, pantry inventory, shopping list entries, and associated application metadata are stored locally on your device.
  • Storage Location: Data is stored in an embedded SQLite database inside the application's private storage directory.
  • Encryption Status: The SQLite database is not encrypted at the application level. It relies entirely on the underlying operating system's standard application sandboxing and file-level protections to secure the database from unauthorized access by other applications on the same device.

Recipe Photos & Persistent Storage

  • Selection: When you add an image to a recipe, Savorpad invokes the operating system's standard file/content picker. Savorpad does not request broad permissions to access or read your overall photo library or file storage.
  • Persistent Image Storage: The selected image is copied into a dedicated recipe_photos directory inside the application's persistent application-support storage. Savorpad records this persistent file path in its local database.
  • Original Media: Savorpad accesses only the image you select through the system file picker to create its own copy. It does not modify, move, or delete the original image file stored in your device's photo gallery or external storage.

3 Permissions and Network Connectivity

  • Android Permissions: The Android release version of Savorpad does not declare any user-facing runtime permissions, such as camera, microphone, location, contacts, or broad storage/media permissions.
  • Network Connectivity: The Android release version of Savorpad does not declare the Android INTERNET permission. The application code does not implement network communication to transmit your recipes, pantry information, shopping lists, or photos to developer-operated servers.

4 Operating System and Platform Services

The application developer does not provide cloud backup or synchronization services. However, your device's operating system or app distribution platform may handle data independently:

Operating System Backups and Device Transfers

  • Savorpad allows the operating system to include the application's local database and persistent storage files (including the recipe_photos directory) in system-level backup mechanisms (such as Android Auto Backup or device-to-device migration).
  • Availability and Destination: Whether a backup occurs, when it occurs, and where the backup is stored depends entirely on your device's operating system, device settings, and the backup provider configured on your device (for example, a cloud backup service or local cable transfer). Savorpad has no access to or control over these backups.
  • Backup Eligibility and Limitations: On Android, both the SQLite database and persistent recipe photo files are eligible for system-level backups by default. However, backup inclusion and restoration remain subject to operating system behavior, device and provider settings, and applicable storage limits.
  • User Control: Where supported, you can manage or disable application backups through your device's operating system or backup provider settings.

App Distribution Platforms

If you download or install Savorpad through an application store or platform (such as Google Play or other app marketplaces), that platform provider may independently collect installation statistics, device characteristics, and aggregated crash telemetry in accordance with its own privacy policy.

5 Data Deletion and Retention

  • Deleting Items in the App: When you delete an item such as a pantry item or shopping list entry inside Savorpad, the corresponding record is removed from the local SQLite database.
  • Recipe Deletion: When an entire recipe is deleted, its database record and associated child records (such as directions and ingredient usages) are removed from the database. Associated copied photo files are deleted from the recipe_photos directory only when no remaining recipe references those files. Original gallery images are never affected.
  • Recipe Photo Deletion: When you delete a recipe photo within Savorpad, the application removes its database reference and deletes the copied physical image file from the recipe_photos directory, provided no other recipe references that same file.
  • Original Images: Removing a recipe or photo in Savorpad has no effect on the original image stored in your device's photo gallery or external storage.
  • Uninstalling the Application: Uninstalling Savorpad removes the application, its local database, and all locally stored application files from your device. However, if your operating system previously created a backup of the application database or files, that backup may persist with your backup provider until overwritten or removed according to your operating system's backup settings.

6 Children's Privacy

Savorpad is intended for individuals aged 18 or older, or older where required by the applicable jurisdiction. The application does not require account creation and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the application. The application stores user-created content locally on the device and does not transmit that content to developer-operated servers. If you contact the developer for support, any personal information you include in your correspondence may be received by the developer. Personal information voluntarily provided through support correspondence is used to respond to inquiries and provide support. Parents or guardians who have concerns about information shared through support correspondence may contact the developer using the details below.

7 Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the application or legal requirements. Updates will be posted in this document with a revised "Last Updated" date.
