Terms of Use

Last Updated: 31 October 2026 Effective Date: 31 October 2026

Welcome to Savorpad™. Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Savorpad mobile application ("Savorpad", the "Application", or the "App").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Savorpad, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install, access, or use the Application.

1 About the Application and Ownership

1.1 Developer and Owner Information

Savorpad is developed, owned, and operated by Adithya Suresh ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"), an independent developer based in India.

1.2 Application Category and Primary Platform

Savorpad is categorized under Food & Drink and is primarily developed for the Android operating system.

1.3 Copyright and Trademark Notice

  • Copyright: © 2026 Adithya Suresh. All rights reserved.
  • Trademark: Savorpad™ is a trademark of Adithya Suresh. A trademark application has been filed in Class 9 in India (Application No. 8087181). The application is currently awaiting examination. All other product names, logos, or trademarks referenced in the App or associated materials are the property of their respective owners.

1.4 Standalone, Offline Nature

Savorpad is an offline-first recipe management and kitchen organization application. The Application runs locally on your personal device. The Developer does not operate user accounts, cloud databases, backend servers, or synchronization services for your recipe or pantry data.

2 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age, or older if the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction is higher, to download, install, access, or use Savorpad.

3 Application Functionality and Scope of Use

3.1 Implemented Features

Savorpad provides tools for personal and kitchen organization. Subject to the features implemented in the current release of the Application, Savorpad allows you to:

  • Recipe Management: Create, view, edit, organize, filter, sort, and delete recipes, including titles, descriptions, prep/cook times, and step-by-step directions.
  • Master Ingredient Database: Create, edit, search, and maintain your own customized master ingredient catalogue. Savorpad does not rely on or require a predefined ingredient catalogue; the database is created and maintained entirely by you.
  • Structured Ingredient Usages: Associate ingredients with specific recipes, including quantities, measurement units, preparation methods, and custom notes.
  • Recipe Servings: Adjust and manage recipe serving yields.
  • Recipe Photos: Import and view recipe photos selected from your device via the system photo picker.
  • Pantry Inventory: Log, track, update, and delete pantry items.
  • Shopping Lists: Create, update, check off, and manage shopping list items.
  • Search and Organization: Search, sort, and organize recipes, ingredients, pantry entries, and shopping list items locally.

3.2 Permitted Personal and Commercial Use

You are permitted to use Savorpad for both personal and commercial culinary purposes, including:

  • • Home cooking and personal meal planning;
  • • Small food businesses, independent catering, home bakeries, food trucks, and restaurants; and
  • • Culinary education and cooking instruction.

3.3 Important Commercial Limitations

Savorpad is designed and offered as a lightweight, standalone organization utility. Savorpad is not designed, certified, or guaranteed for mission-critical commercial operations, regulatory food traceability compliance, industrial food-service logistics, or high-reliability kitchen management. Any reliance on the Application for commercial or business operations is undertaken at your own business judgment and risk.

3.4 No Account Requirement

You do not need to register an account, provide an email address, or create login credentials to use Savorpad.

4 Local Data Storage, Backups, and Risk of Data Loss

4.1 Local Device Storage Architecture

All data created or managed in Savorpad resides locally within the Application's sandboxed private storage directory on your device:

  • Structured Application Data: Recipes, ingredient definitions, pantry items, shopping lists, and metadata are stored locally in an embedded SQLite database.
  • Recipe Image Files: Actual recipe photo files are copied into and stored within a dedicated recipe_photos directory inside the Application's persistent internal storage (getApplicationSupportDirectory()).
  • Database Image References: The SQLite database stores local filesystem path references linking recipe records to these persistent image files.

For full details regarding data storage and permissions, please review our Privacy Policy.

4.2 Recipe Photos and Persistent Storage

When you attach a photo to a recipe, you select an image using the operating system's standard photo picker. Savorpad creates an independent copy of the selected image in a dedicated recipe_photos directory located in the Application's persistent internal application-support storage, and saves that local file path in the database.

  • Original Gallery Photos Untouched: Savorpad does not modify, move, or delete original photos stored in your device's photo gallery or external storage.
  • Independent File Management: Copied image files are managed independently within Savorpad's private application storage.
  • Individual Photo Deletion: When you delete an individual recipe photo within Savorpad, the Application removes the database reference and deletes the corresponding physical image file from the recipe_photos directory (provided it is no longer referenced by any recipe).
  • Whole-Recipe Deletion: When a recipe is deleted, its associated copied photo files are deleted from Savorpad's private storage only if no remaining recipe references those files.
  • Gallery Photos Preserved on Deletion: Neither deleting an individual photo nor deleting an entire recipe modifies, moves, alters, or deletes original photos stored in your device's photo gallery or external storage.

4.3 No Developer Backup or Recovery Services

  • No Developer Servers: The Developer does not operate servers, cloud storage, or backup systems. Your application data, including recipes, ingredients, pantry information, shopping lists, and recipe photos, is never transmitted to or backed up by Developer-operated infrastructure.
  • No Data Restoration by Developer: The Developer does not provide data recovery or restoration services. Because Savorpad stores your application data locally on your device and does not transmit it to the Developer, the Developer cannot directly recover or restore your data.

4.4 Operating System Backups

Savorpad does not disable standard operating system-level backup mechanisms (such as Android Auto Backup or device-to-device migration). If enabled on your device, the operating system may independently include the Application's local database and persistent storage files—including copied image files in the recipe_photos directory—in system backups. However:

  • The timing, frequency, destination, and reliability of system-level backups depend entirely on your device configuration and third-party backup service providers (e.g., Google Drive);
  • Operating system backups are subject to platform rules, network availability, and cloud storage quotas (such as standard Android Auto Backup size limits); and
  • The Developer does not operate, manage, or guarantee system-level backups and cannot guarantee that your database records or photo files will be retained or restored successfully after a device migration or reinstallation.

4.5 User Responsibility and Data Loss Conditions

You acknowledge and agree that Savorpad stores application data locally on your device and does not transmit it to Developer-operated infrastructure, but the operating system or backup provider may independently create backups as described in Section 4.4. Data loss may occur under the following distinct conditions:

  1. Clearing Application Cache: Manually clearing the Application cache in your device settings (Settings > Apps > Savorpad > Clear Cache) or system-driven cache cleanups removes only temporary files. Because your SQLite database and recipe photos are held in persistent application storage rather than the cache directory, clearing the cache does not delete your recipe data, database records, or recipe photo files.
  2. Clearing Storage or Data: Manually clearing Application storage or data (Settings > Apps > Savorpad > Clear Storage or Clear Data) permanently erases all local application data, deleting both the SQLite database (recipes, ingredients, pantry inventory, shopping lists) and all persistent recipe photo files.
  3. Uninstallation, Device Resets, or Hardware Failure: Uninstalling the Application, factory-resetting the device, device loss, operating system corruption, or hardware storage failure may result in permanent data loss, unless an independent operating-system backup is successfully restored.

You are responsible for maintaining independent records of recipes, formulas, and culinary notes that are critical to you or your business.

5 Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Developer's Intellectual Property

The Application uses the Savorpad name and logo as part of its branding. The Savorpad name is the subject of a pending trademark application in India, as described in Section 1.3.

The Application's original source code, architecture, design layouts, and documentation are owned by Adithya Suresh and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The Application may include third-party materials, including open-source icons, libraries, fonts, and other assets, which remain subject to their respective licenses and terms.

5.2 Ownership of User Content

  • Ownership of User Content: As between you and the Developer, you retain ownership of the content you create and enter into Savorpad ("User Content"), subject to any third-party rights in content you import or use.
  • No Rights Transferred to Developer: Because Savorpad operates entirely offline and does not transmit your User Content to the Developer, you do not grant the Developer any license, assignment, or rights in your User Content. Your recipes and culinary records remain yours.

5.3 Software License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Savorpad on compatible Android devices that you own or control, for your personal or commercial purposes as permitted in Section 3. This license is revocable in accordance with the termination provisions in Section 11.2 and applicable law.

5.4 Open Source Software

Savorpad includes open-source software libraries and packages (such as Flutter, Drift, Riverpod, and GoRouter). These open-source components are distributed under their respective open-source licenses (e.g., BSD-3-Clause, MIT, and Apache 2.0). Nothing in these Terms restricts, limits, or supersedes your rights under applicable open-source software licenses.

6 Acceptable Use and Restrictions

6.1 Prohibited Activities

You agree that you will not:

  1. Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of Savorpad, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits such activity notwithstanding this limitation;
  2. Copy, redistribute, resell, lease, sublicense, or publish the Application binary or any portion thereof without prior written authorization from the Developer;
  3. Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Application;
  4. Bypass, disable, or tamper with security measures, sandbox controls, or operational limits of the Application or operating system;
  5. Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code into or through the Application;
  6. Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices contained in the Application; or
  7. Use Savorpad for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws or regulations.

These restrictions do not override rights granted to you under applicable open-source software licenses.

6.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for all User Content you enter or import into Savorpad. You represent that you have all necessary rights and permissions to use and store any recipes, images, or texts that you introduce into the App, and that your User Content does not infringe upon any third party's intellectual property or legal rights.

7 Food Safety, Health, and Culinary Disclaimers

7.1 Organizational Utility Only

Savorpad is a kitchen organization software tool. It is not a healthcare, medical, nutritional, dietetic, or food-safety advisory service.

7.2 Independent User Responsibility for Food Safety

Savorpad allows you to maintain your own custom database of ingredients, instructions, and cooking notes without a predefined catalogue. The Developer does not review, verify, validate, or endorse user-entered recipes, ingredient entries, cooking times, or preparation methods.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Culinary Control: The selection, handling, inspection, storage, preparation, cooking, and consumption of all ingredients and foods remain entirely under your direct physical observation and control;
  2. Allergen and Health Verification: You are solely responsible for identifying, managing, and verifying all potential food allergens, sensitivities, and dietary requirements for yourself and anyone who consumes food prepared using your recipes;
  3. Food Hygiene and Handling: You are responsible for adhering to recognized food-handling, sanitary, thawing, and refrigeration standards;
  4. Cooking Temperatures: You are responsible for ensuring that perishable foods (such as poultry, meat, seafood, dairy, and eggs) are cooked to safe internal temperatures according to recognized public health authorities;
  5. Freshness and Expiration: Date entries recorded in the App are manual user entries. You remain responsible for inspecting the physical condition, aroma, and packaging dates of pantry and refrigerated goods before use; and
  6. Cross-Contamination: You are responsible for taking appropriate precautions against cross-contamination of allergens and raw foods during meal preparation.

7.3 Independent Verification

You should consult qualified medical or nutritional professionals regarding specific dietary needs, allergies, or health conditions. For authoritative guidance on food handling and foodborne illness prevention, consult guidelines from relevant health authorities (such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India — FSSAI, or equivalent health agencies in your region).

7.4 Preservation of Statutory Consumer Protections

Nothing in this Section 7 or these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights, guarantees, or remedies that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

8 Availability, Modifications, and Software Updates

8.1 Application Availability

While Savorpad is designed to run offline without dependency on external servers, the Developer does not guarantee that the Application will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

8.2 Updates and Modifications

The Developer reserves the right to:

  • • Issue updates, bug fixes, patches, and feature improvements;
  • • Modify, add, or discontinue specific features or interfaces within the App;
  • • Discontinue compatibility with older operating system versions or hardware; and
  • • Update or withdraw the Application from app distribution platforms (such as the Google Play Store).

Updates may be installed automatically through your app marketplace or may require manual installation.

9 Disclaimer of Warranties

9.1 General Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law:

  • Savorpad is provided "as is", "as available", and with all faults, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
  • The Developer disclaims all implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular or commercial purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.
  • The Developer does not warrant that Savorpad will meet your specific personal or commercial culinary requirements, that its operation will be continuous or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the App will remain compatible with all future hardware or operating system versions.

9.2 Statutory Consumer Rights Preserved

Nothing in these Terms shall exclude, restrict, or modify any statutory condition, guarantee, warranty, right, or remedy conferred on you by applicable law (including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, where applicable under Indian law) that cannot be lawfully excluded, restricted, or modified by contract.

10 Limitation of Liability

10.1 Exclusion of Indirect and Consequential Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer (Adithya Suresh) be liable under any legal or equitable theory (whether in contract, tort including negligence, strict liability, breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages;
  • Loss of data, corruption of database files, or loss of custom recipes, formulas, or photos;
  • Commercial losses, lost profits, business interruption, loss of goodwill, or costs of substitute software; or
  • Any failure, damage, or data loss resulting from hardware malfunction, operating system errors, or uninstallation of the Application.

10.2 Statutory Exceptions and Non-Excludable Liabilities

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under applicable law, including:

  1. Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  2. Liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law; or
  3. Non-excludable consumer rights, statutory guarantees, or statutory remedies provided under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Indian Contract Act, 1872, or other applicable Indian legislation.

11 Termination of License

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by discontinuing use and uninstalling Savorpad from your devices. As described in Section 4.4, uninstalling the Application removes its local files from your device, but does not necessarily delete independent operating-system backups retained by your backup provider.

11.2 Termination by Developer

Because Savorpad is an offline application that operates locally without user accounts or remote server controls, the Developer does not possess the technical ability to remotely disable or remove the Application from your device.

However, if you materially violate any provision of these Terms, your permission and license to use the Application may be revoked and terminated in accordance with these Terms and applicable law. Upon such termination, you must stop using Savorpad and delete or uninstall all copies of the Application from your devices.

11.3 Survival of Terms

Sections 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 of these Terms shall survive any termination of this Agreement.

12 Governing Law, Dispute Resolution, and Jurisdiction

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms, their subject matter, and any contractual or non-contractual disputes arising out of or related to your use of Savorpad shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

The Application is distributed and operated subject to applicable Indian legislation, including:

  • • Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules framed thereunder;
  • • Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and rules framed thereunder; and
  • • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act, 2023") and rules framed thereunder, to the extent such provisions and rules have been notified and brought into force by the Central Government of India in the Official Gazette.

12.2 Informal Dispute Resolution

  1. Good-Faith Consultation: Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you and the Developer agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or Savorpad by sending an informal notice to support@savorpad.com. The parties agree to consult and negotiate informally for at least thirty (30) calendar days from receipt of such notice.
  2. Carve-out for Urgent Relief: Nothing in this Section 12.2 shall prevent either party from seeking urgent interim, provisional, or injunctive relief from a court of competent jurisdiction at any time to prevent intellectual property infringement, trade secret misappropriation, or other irreparable harm.
  3. Statutory Consumer Rights: Informal dispute consultations shall not act as a legal obstacle to exercising non-waivable statutory rights to approach competent statutory consumer dispute resolution authorities.

12.3 Jurisdiction

Subject to Section 12.2, any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Application shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in India in accordance with applicable law, without prejudice to non-waivable statutory rights that allow consumers to approach competent Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.

13 General Provisions

13.1 Relationship with the Privacy Policy

Your use of Savorpad is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://savorpad.com/privacy. The Privacy Policy explains our local data storage architecture, permissions and network connectivity, and how recipe photo files are stored on your device. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are intended to be read together in harmony.

13.2 Modifications to these Terms

The Developer reserves the right to revise or update these Terms periodically, including to reflect software updates, architectural changes, or evolving legal requirements. When revisions are made:

  • • The updated version will be published with a revised "Last Updated" and "Effective Date" at the top of this document;
  • • Continued use of Savorpad after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms; and
  • • If you do not agree to the updated Terms, your remedy is to stop using and uninstall Savorpad.

13.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13.4 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and applicable open-source licenses, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding Savorpad, superseding any prior or contemporaneous oral or written proposals, communications, or agreements.

13.5 No Waiver

No failure or delay by the Developer in exercising any right, power, or remedy under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right, power, or remedy.
